Garmin King of the Mountain and Queen of the Mountain
Fastest male and fastest female from Mirimbah
to the picturesque Mt Buller Alpine Village.

Entry
As part of the 2012 SCODY High Country Cycle Challenge, all riders who enter the 200km, 165km and 100km Ride Options will automatically be entered into the Garmin King or Queen of the Mountain.

Timing
What's your best time climbing up Mt Buller? Can you match the benchmark of 39.50 set by Simon Gerrans in 2008? Now you can find out!

With thanks to Mt Buller Alpine Resort Management Board, this year’s event will again see some great timing technology. ALL riders will be supplied with a transponder at registration, by Castech Sports Technology, to fit to your bike. When you ride through the 'start' line at the base of Mt Buller, the clock will start timing your ride.

Once you get to the Mt Buller Alpine Village, the clock will record your time. It will be an official record of your time up Mt Buller; so you can compare yourself against Simon Gerrans’ time, against your mates, and see your improvement from year to year during the Cycle Challenge.

Times will be posted on this page after the ride up and we'll try to have the times on display while you're grabbing a bite to eat during your lunch break on the mountain.

Don't forget … when you finish your ride you'll need to return your transponder to Castech. They'll have a return bin both on Mt Buller (for the 200km ride) and in Mansfield (for all the other rides).

Prizes
Your entry into the Garmin King or Queen of the Mountain means you are in the running for:

a limited edition King or Queen of the Mountain jersey from SCODY (the 2011 jersey is pictured on the right, modelled by winners Francesca Wellington and Jason Spencer);
a holiday at the beautiful Mt Buller Chalet Hotel. This holiday on Mt Buller includes two nights accommodation in a One Bedroom Apartment, breakfast for two each morning, a two-course dinner for two each night of the stay and Australian sparkling wine and chocolates on arrival (not valid during the 2012 snow season - 5 June to 1 October 2012;) and
a Garmin Edge 800. Make the most of every ride with Edge® 800 — the first touchscreen GPS bike computer. Providing navigation and performance monitoring, Edge 800 is ideal for touring, commuting, competitive cycling and mountain biking. It has a built-in basemap and tracks your distance, speed, location and ascent/descent. Use it with an ANT+™ heart rate monitor, speed/cadence sensor or compatible power meter for a finely tuned analysis of your ride.
The value of this fantastic prize is over $1,200 for both the King and Queen of the Mountain - the jersey is priceless!
